It didn't happen all at once!

It didn't happen all at once!

How did I go from being an event planner to being a plant lady?! It all started with the idea to turn my bar cart into a "plant cart." Seems easy enough, right? Just add a few plants and call it a day... nope. That was just the beginning.

COVID-19 has affected all of us differently; personally, it turned me into a plant lady! After organizing every cabinet in my house, completing multiple painting projects, redecorating each room, and moving furniture, I turned to plants. Ha! I actually turned to my side yard...it's been neglected for years, and I knew it was time to transform my outdoor space! I've always enjoyed plants but just never took the time to try to collect them, buy planters, and use them in my home decor. But as soon as I started looking at sod, seed, and landscaping, the seal was broken, and I wanted more plants indoors, too!

I had a few plants already, but then I went to Lowe's and took a "quick look" in the garden center. I found a cute fiddle leaf fig bush as well as a golden pothos (ivy) and thought they would be nice additions to the house. I split up the large ivy into SIX different planters (hopefully they all survive) and that's when the plant shelf really started taking shape.

I also created a plant tutorial video about how to propagate your own plants! Did I post this video on Instagram before realize I misspelled "propagate?" Yes. Yes I did. Moving on!

Plants have been a fun way to decorate and a fun new hobby to research during quarantine. I'm learning about different kinds of plants, how to care for them, and now I'm looking into more plants for my side yard, so hopefully I'll have a beautiful usable outdoor space when this is over!
