Over the weekend, Dallas Blogger Brunch met at the new Uchibā, above Uchi, to be among the first to try their new brunch menu! Every month, we love getting to partner with a local Dallas restaurant and bring together women from all corners of the blogosphere to build community and celebrate each other.
We took up their whole 2nd floor patio space and had the best time sampling their new menu items and some of the favorites from the Top Knot menu! Our beautiful florals were by Olive Grove Designs and they matched the zen vibe of Uchibā perfectly!
We started with the sticky toffee monkey break (omg) and the bakery board (so beautiful!). I'm a firm believer in high carb brunches, which is why, as usual, I ordered the Baked French Toast as my entree! You are brunching incorrectly if you don't order the stick toffee monkey bread. Do it. It always amazes me how quickly a sweet group of dainty ladies can tear through a warm pastry- we ate the sticky bread SO fast!
Below is the Baked Egg with tomato, charred peppers, toasted peppers, toasted coconut milk, and toast, which was delicious!
The Hot Fried Chicken Benedict was one of our favorites - with fried egg, smoked gravy, and cornichon gastrique. There's not a lot to say about the food, because LOOK at it! Everything we tried was so good, and I'll definitely be back for more of my brunch favorites soon!
