I had the best time creating this content because I got to eat all of this delicious food and spend time with a few of my favorite girls! Thank you to Eatzi's for sponsoring this post! Full disclosure: originally, we planned to have a picnic outside (who doesn't love a picnic?!) but it was over 100 degrees, soooo we quickly rerouted indoors. We got one photo of Molly setting up, then ran back to the A/C- so sad because I love my picnic basket and never get to use it! Definitely planning to have a picnic once it cools off in Dallas!
I LOVE that the most recent Eatzi's opening happened just around the corner from my neighborhood! Eatzi's is both a cafe and a market, so you can grab a quick sandwich for lunch or pick up a few items that you're out of. I LOVE their fresh bread, y'all. When I lived in Paris, I would always grab a fresh baguette for picnics; in Dallas, I don't eat much bread, but if I'm going to Eatzi's, I'll let myself grab a baguette or one of their specialty loaves! (worth it!)
I don't think you can have a girls' night in without a beautiful charcuterie board, so of course we grabbed a few meats and cheeses (which, thanks to Eatzi's, were already pre-arranged! haha!) We also picked up some of their summer faves- the Citrus Chile Watermelon Salad and the Mixed Berry & Cream Pie! I always need protein, so we got some of the honey chicken too! (loved slicing the leftovers and using it for sandwiches!) OH, and of course, we had to pick up some fresh blooms, which I'm pleased to report are still alive and well, brightening up my kitchen!
There is ONE thing you need to know in order to host a beautiful dinner or event. Just one. The secret to turning your Eatzi's items into a successful food spread is... the plating. I always take my carry out food out of the plastic container and put it in serving dishes! That's the secret. I prefer white dishes, but you can use whatever you have. ;)
The other secret is your guest list ;) I invited a few of my girlfriends over for girls' night and it went from picnic, to rustic farmhouse table photos, to photos and eating and in my kitchen! Of course, the best part of any photoshoot is the very end when you get to eat the food! Thank you, Chandler and Molly for letting me take photos of everything before we could eat it! I think the Mixed Berry & Cream Pie was my favorite- a few seconds in the microwave, plus some homemade vanilla ice cream...perfection! I love getting to catch up with my girls over good food and couldn't have done it last week without Eatzi's!
