You're a peach! :) I'm loving all of the peach puns that people are sending me after my visit to Ham Orchards last weekend! I went with a couple girlfriends to check it out and have a little adventure, and loved it, so I know you will too!
Ham Orchards has been around since 1979 and is still family-owned by Dale and Judy Ham (so presh!). They've made some adjustments to make the orchard as safe as possible for visitors during COVID-19, and we had a blast visiting! The number one question I got was "do you get to pick the peaches?" No, you don't, BUT I don't know how to do that anyway, so I wasn't too upset by that. ;) You CAN pick blackberries, but check their Facebook page for updates, because they'll periodicially close the fields to let more berries ripen. This photo (above) is the large open air pavilion where they sell the peaches, and it was so fun to browse! Pre-covid, they had chairs in the pavilion to chill and eat, but they've made some adjustments to keep everyone safe!
Their country store sells all sorts of peach and other fruit products, and we had the best time browsing and then sampling all of our purchases! There is also an area where you can purchase food like peach pulled pork and other lunch items.
I recommend getting there right when they open at 9am! That's what we did and we walked right in! We didn't think about a line forming later, so we didn't buy anything right away, but just browsed then walked around the property... so we waited in line to get back into the store later- not a big deal. Everyone was practicing social distancing, and all of their employees were wearing masks, so we felt safe.
What else do you do after leaving Ham Orchards except for having a peach-themed brunch?! I definitely recommend the "doughnut peaches" because they are so cute, and of course, delicious. The "peach butter with honey" is magical, so that's my spread recommendation for you to try! We also bought a peach fried pie, and everyone at least has to take a bite, because YOLO....and ditto to the homemade peach ice cream at Ham's- must try!! I brought some peaches with me to a grill out Saturday night and a family brunch Sunday morning, and they were a hit both times! Nobody can resist a good peach! ;)
Happy peaching!
