What a year! 2018 was full of some fantastic brunches (Stirr, Dolce Riviera, City Hall Bistro, Sixty Vines, Mille Lire and even brunching at Lululemon!) and this is one of my favorites! Dallas Blogger Brunch visited Harlowe MXM for our Christmas brunch and it was one of my favorites!
How beautiful is this space?! Harlowe MXM is in Deep Ellum and it is gorgeous with its art deco tile, tons of natural light, and a delicious brunch menu, of course! They also have a great rooftop, if you're looking for a spot to enjoy Dallas weather! I love adding a little festive cheer to our brunch table with floral and special place settings, so this month I was fortunate to be able to work with Olivia from Olive Grove Design to create this seasonal floral runner!
I love the special touch that place cards add to a table, so I was excited to work with a new calligrapher this month! Our place cards were small journals that doubled as party favors and were hand-lettered by Stephanie from Ellie & Ace Calligraphy. I added a little twine and festive greenery for the finishing touch! Thank you, Stephanie!
One of my favorite things about brunch is getting to connect old and new friends and help make the Dallas blogosphere feel a little less intimidating! Loved seeing some of my favorite blogger babes AND girls I met the week prior at another event! This is the reason I created Dallas Blogger Brunch four years ago, and I still love it! Thank you to Harlowe MXM for being a part of this community!
Once everyone arrived and we got all of our Instagram and Insta Stories photos, we started off with a round of mimosas I encouraged all of the girls to get to know their neighbor and talk about something OTHER than Instagram! It's true that bloggers are on Instagram all the time, but that doesn't mean we don't have other exciting things going on in our lives! Sometimes it's hard to break the ice and start talking about something other than "business," but that's how digital friends turn into real friends, and I love seeing that happen!
Harlowe MXM also shared a few of their "Trick Pony" cocktails with us! They do a series of themed cocktail events throughout the year and they have the cutest holiday cocktails right now! Pictured above is the "Dirty Santa" and it came with a little box of coal! (haha!)
We started with a few appetizers and I'm going to go ahead and recommend that you get them ALL! The Hawaiian donuts- cinnamon sugar with pear glaze, the Deep Ellum Tots- pork, egg, queso (omg!), and the Butcher Block Board (the jalapeño cheddar sausage was so good!)
Everything we had was so good, but some of our favorite entrees were the Charred Shrimp Benedict and the Chicken and Waffles! I've been to Harlowe MXM for dinner prior to this, but Dallas Blogger Brunch was my first brunch experience at Harlowe and I will definitely be back!
Thank you to our partners, Olive Grove Design and Ellie & Ace Calligraphy, for making our brunch table beautiful!
Thank you to Harlowe MXM for hosting Dallas Blogger Brunch! I can't wait to see you again soon!
