I'm thrilled to be able to get back to my workout routine- it makes such a difference in my mental clarity and attitude each day! Workouts have always been my "me time" and I'm excited to be able to take an hour away and focus on my wellness now that COVID is winding down (and hopefully stays that way!). Of course, I know many of you are still apprehensive about returning to gyms, and we still have to be careful not to spread germs.
I know so many Dallas gyms and fitness studios are struggling after being closed for almost 3 months, so I'm sharing about studios as I visit them, to share with you what practices are in place, how each studio felt during my workout, and how I'm continuing to support my local gyms this month. I'll be adding to this information via Instagram stories and to this post for the next couple weeks as I try new places.
If you're ready to start working out again and don't know where to start or are nervous to go back into a sweaty space with strangers, I hope sharing my experience helps you! I use StudioHop to workout in Dallas, and visit different studios that are a part of the StudioHop network. I love being able to pay one monthly membership rate and getting access to all different types of workouts and gym locations. I've used StudioHop for years now, and love it! If you like to mix up your workout routine, then StudioHop is a great way to do it. You can get 20% off your trial or first month with code Rhonda20.
Last week, I asked for some help from StudioHop to spotlight some black-owned fitness studios and gyms in Dallas, and I encourage you to check out the graphic below and add them into your workout routine! I also shared some graphics about safety practices in place at the gyms I visited last week and today, so I'll share those below as well. Most are included on the StudioHop platform, but even if they're not, definitely worth checking out! This information is saved in my fitness highlight and my "black heart icon" highlight for clickable links.
COVID has most people scared to go back into a gym, but I'm more scared NOT to go back! Getting back to the gym last week made me feel like we are getting over COVID and gave me a reason to wake up early and motivated me to work hard all day! I'm sharing the below graphics as a summary of each studio that I've visited so far and the practices that they put in place to keep guest safe.
These are slides from my Instagram stories (saved in my Fitness Highlight), which also contain videos from each gym, if you want more information. All four of these gyms made me feel safe and clean. I would recommend giving them a visit as you start adding workouts back into your life! If you still aren't sure about any fitness studio, give them a call and ask them what they're doing to keep you safe! Gyms want you to feel comfortable and welcome!
Reminder, you can try StudioHop and get 20% your trial or first month with code Rhonda20 - it's a great way to try out some new studios!
