Balance. It is my word of the year but has eluded me once again in January 2017! I plan to continue in my quest to find the delicate balance between work and life, including tip-toeing the fine line between my hobbies and my work. I think I post about finding balance more than any other topic, but I think it is something that requires constant work and evaluation. In my post about balance in 2016, I included these 5 tips...they're still true and I still need to focus on them daily!
1. Don’t try to be perfect!
2. Schedule downtime/rest!
3. Eliminate wasted time and people!
4. Focus on your specialty!
5. Exercise!
Last weekend, I had activities scheduled with joyful people all weekend long and it was so encouraging to be around those friends! I had brunch with my old roommates, a coffee date with Chiara (to chat about our lettering workshop!!), and a date with Molly on the Move! I felt so reenergized by quality time with quality people and I think it even showed in my recent Instagram posts. I was very aware over the weekend that I was having a great time and feeling inspired by friends' joyful attitudes and in turn I wanted to create joyful and encouraging content and excitement for YOU! In 2016, my word of the year was "grow" and while I know I have definitely done that, I want to continue to grow to maintain balance...I am even working on hiring an intern to help with event production and media relations for the blog so that I can work on #4 and focus on my specialty while I have someone helping me with areas of my business that they are passionate about!
